At our clinic, we use acupuncture and/or Chinese herbal medicine to help busy people to handle their life with less stress. We have successfully helped people to get enough sleep and stay energetic throughout the day so they can do their job, take care of their families, and still have some energy left to have fun.
Modern life is stressful and if we are not careful we could become victims of being overburdened. Insomnia, chronic fatigue, high blood pressure, and tinnitus are all signs of our body responding to stress. Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine can reduce stress and build up our body’s energy and immune system, by lowering the activity of the overactive sympathetic nervous system (SNS). SNS is is responsible to mediating the neuronal and hormonal stress respose (fight-or-flight response). While it is essential to our survival, when SNS is overactivated it causes all kinds of problem, most of which are referred as stress disorders.
One of the most severe stress disorders is PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) that many soldiers suffer. The US military have used acupuncture successfully to help PTSD patients to return to normal life. Most we civilians do not go through the life and death situations that the combat soldiers do.
